• 460 pesetas, 12 partridges, 12 cheeses and 6 hams to the Bishop of Urgell;
• 960 francs to the President of France.
• In 1934, a Russian adventurer and former officer, Boris Skossyreff, proclaimed himself King of Andorra after presenting a programme of political and economic reforms to the country's General Council. His reign was extremely brief, but the story remains one of the most unusual episodes in Andorran history.
• With a population of around 80,000 people, Andorra is one of Europe's smallest states. Its modern police force is relatively small, while the country's borders are surrounded by Spain and France — a unique geographical position that has helped preserve Andorra's distinctive character for centuries.
• Its strategic location and attractive tax system have made Andorra a favourite destination for skiing, shopping and mountain tourism.
